Cane Seats
A classic option in fine wood-canvas canoes for a century, these hand-woven cane seats have the same six-stage weaving pattern used by the Chestnut Canoe Company. Installed with bronze carriage bolts. $350 a pair
Portage Yoke
The Chestnut portage yoke works. Our reproduction of this functional masterpiece is sanded silky smooth. You may select canoe routes with lots of portages - just because. $140
Lowered Seats
Sometimes knees aren't what they used to be and kneeling in a canoe is no longer possible. Others just want more stability in the canoe. Dropping the seats a couple of inches with 6" bronze carriage bolts makes a world of difference. $90
Painter Rings
The rope attached to each end of the canoe is called a painter. We use bronze eye straps and rings to give your canoe a classic look. $30 a pair
Hand-Painted Details
In the 1920's and 1930's, many canoe companies decorated their canoes with a wide variety of designs. Kettle River Canoes will customize your canoe with the design of your choice. The cost depends on the complexity of the design.
Your Choice
Replicate an art deco design from a 1924 Old Town Canoe catalog, colour-match your car or let your imagination run wild.
Paddles
For three hundred years in the Fur Trade, no voyageur in his right mind would use a paddle more than 5" wide.
Traditional paddles are long and narrow - and they work. We carve ours from solid birds-eye maple. $250
